I always practice strong Dojo safety by
stopping my strike well short of the intended target.
There is never an excuse for striking Uke.
From the Forward Leaning Stance (Zenkutsu-Dachi). Left hand in the chamber,
right hand out. Bring the left elbow diagonally upward (palm in / closed),
stopping at ear height. The palm is facing downward. Simultaneously, retract the
right arm into the chamber, palm upward. Repeat for opposite side.
Remember, without safety, there can be no
Jujitsu.
