There are
many different kicking techniques that are used in Jujitsu. The
important parts of a kick are the power and striking area of the kick.
The following basic kicks are found in most Jujitsu styles.

Kick - Mae-Geri

Knee
Kick - Hiza-Geri

Roundhouse Kick - Mawashi-Geri

Side
Kick - Yoko-Geri

Rear
Kick - Ushiro-Geri

Hook
Kick - Kake-Geri
Each
school may execute these kicks slightly differently, but the following
key points apply to all variations of these kicking techniques.

Use
speed rather than power

Drive
through you target with the kick.

bring
the leg back immediately. Do not leave it out to be grabbed or
swept.

Keep
the knee of the supporting leg slightly bent to ensure proper
balance.
Remember, without safety, there can be no
Jujitsu.
