All techniques
should be learned under the guidance of a qualified Jujitsu instructor.
Care must be taken to ensure that Tori does not strike Uke. Kicks, and
strikes must stop 6 inches short of the target. Additionally, only throw
Uke onto a surface specifically designed to absorb such impact and only
after proper break falls have been learned.
Uke attempts to apply a side head lock. As the arms
come around, Tori strikes to the groin with Shutei-Tsuki (palm heal
thrust). Bringing the left arm over Uke’s head, Troi strikes with a Hiza-Geri
(knee kick). Tori secures the right shoulder with the left hand, steps
in and throws Uke with O-Soto-Gari, then strikes with a Kansetsu-Geri
(stomp kick) to the head.
Remember, without safety, there can be no
Jujitsu.
