The technique shown below is
illustrated in my book Modern Self Defense for
the 21st
Note:
All techniques
should be learned under the guidance of a qualified Jujitsu instructor.
Care must be taken to ensure that Tori does not strike Uke. Kicks, and
strikes must stop 6 inches short of the target. Additionally, only throw
Uke onto a surface specifically designed to absorb such impact and only
after proper break falls have been learned.
Tori strikes with left
Jodan-Tsuki (upper punch) to Uke’s head. Moving diagonally forward to
the left (left foot first, then right), Tori applies a right clockwise
wrist technique. Stepping behind Uke, Tori places the left hand (palm
down / open) onto the left shoulder and pulls with both hands while
striking with a right Gedan-Mae-Geri (lower front kick) to the right
knee (toes to the outside right of the knee). Safety Rule. Never
directly strike to Uke’s knee. Serious damage will occur. After
the kick, Tori steps straight back to avoid having Uke fall into the
legs and keeps both hands up to stop the Uke’s legs from striking. Tori
throws an Gedan-Kansetsu-Geri (stomp kick) to the head
Remember, without safety, there can be no
Jujitsu.
